Special tire-prices at the DKM

10.02.2014

From the 2014 season on, Italian tire manufacturer Vega is going to equip the three grades of the German Kart Championship and is offering an extensive service for the participants. In addition to support throughout all of the racing events, the drivers can get their tires for a special price.

Costs are playing an increasing role in kart racing as well. To counter this development, the DMSB has come to a driver-friendly agreement with the new DKM tire-provider Vega. All sets of tires are going to be offered for reduced prices during the racing weekends. A set of slick tires is going to cost 175€ at the KF junior, 180€ at the DKM and DSKM. Rain tires will be billed for 180€ in all classes. According to series coordinator Stefan Wagner, this is an important step due to the ever increasing costs: “We have deliberately sent a signal with this. The prices for tires have considerably risen during the last few years. Due to this agreement, the drivers now have planning reliability and can also save some money. “

Vega is also going to help the participants with words and deeds in the service area. During all of the races, a team sent by the manufacturer and importer for Germany, GN Motorsport, will be on location and lend support if any problems arise. Additionally, a new course is going to be set regarding quality assurance. At the DKM, only coded tire sets from one charge are going to be used, which is going to prevent distortion of competition due to possible different tire hardness. In addition, drivers are going to be able to hand over their old tires to the manufacturer free of charge.
