WDR reports on DKM finale

Attention kart racing fans: On November 2nd at 4:50p.m., the West German broadcasting service (WDR) is going to report on the finale of the German Kart Championship in Belgian Genk on their show “Sport im Westen”. For more than 25 minutes, the highlights of one of the most exciting DKM-finales in years will be analyzed.

It’s been three weeks since the title decisions of the German Kart Championship were made in Genk. In thrilling races, under difficult weather conditions, more than 120 drivers from 15 nations fought for the last points in the first league of German kart racing. In the end, Martijn van Leeuwen (DJKM) and André Matisic (DKM) were able to come out on top.

A WDR team was also on-site. On their show “Sport im Westen” (“sports in the west”), the broadcasting service is going to analyze the events of the finale. The title decisions regarding the DKM and DJKM will be the center of the show. In addition, the kart racing beginnings of today’s Formula 1 superstars Michael Schumacher and Sebastian Vettel as well as archive recordings of a women’s kart racing European Championship in Kerpen-Horrem from 1972 will be looked at.

The report can be watched on Saturday, November 2nd at 4:50p.m. on WDR as well as via their online media center at: http://www1.wdr.de/mediathek/video/sendungen/sport_im_westen/
